Ying Chang is a Taiwanese / American artist, meditation and yoga practitioner whose work explores the relationship between attention, rhythm, and presence. On the page, on the mat, or on a meditation cushion, she is drawn to the quiet discipline of returning to each present moment.
After leaving a structured career in New York City to pursue a life guided by inner alignment, Ying spent three years living on the road before calling Svalbard her home. Along the way, she slowly realized that creativity, like yoga and meditation, does not come from chasing something new or better, but from continuously returning to oneself.
In her yoga and meditation classes, she prioritizes awareness. Rather than striving to perform, these sessions are invitations to observe, to cultivate a deeper relationship between body and mind, and to come home to who you already are. This same philosophy runs through her artistic practice, where repetition becomes a path to presence and each return is an opportunity to begin again.
